Approved for 2 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

The key to success in life and business is to become a master at Conversational Intelligence. It’s not about how smart you are, but how open you are to learn new and effective powerful conversational rituals that prime the brain for trust, partnership, and mutual success. Conversational Intelligence® translates the wealth of new insights coming out of neuroscience from across the globe, and brings the science down to earth so coaches and their clients can understand and apply it in their everyday lives.

Drawing on decades of Neuro-scientific research, her work as an Organizational Anthropologist and her 35 years of success with her clients, Glaser will take us on a profound journey behind the scenes where Conversational Alchemy was created – and show us how to bring this inside of our coaching engagements. The focus will be how to move from Level I Transactional Conversations – to Level II – Positional – and most importantly into Level III Transformational Conversations.

Glaser’s session will enable coaches to see behind the scenes into fascinating evolutionary change to our brains that have given us capacities for creating our own ‘alchemy’ – conversations have the power to activate ‘co-regulation’ –person to person, team to team and organization to organization. Crossroads of Marketing: Where Who You Are Intersects With Marketing Success-Kristen Beireis (Grand 1)

Approved for .375 ICF Core Competency CCE Units and 1.125 ICF Resource Development CCE Units

Click here to access session handout.

The problem with most marketing training is it teaches you that success comes from doing things “right” or “following the plan provided”.  That’s great, except that it’s a very external point of view. As coaches, we know that success is more about the internal state than it is about the external doing.

It’s time to go inside and apply who you are to your marketing success. Bring your top 3 values to this session! Yes, you read that right. We’re bringing values into the marketing space. Why not? We use values to help our clients create success, don’t we? Here’s what you’ll walk away with:

1) A new definition for who you are as a marketer.

2) A short story you can tell to get the attention of potential clients.

3) A way to build trust and intimacy through marketing.

4) How to ensure you are marketing your business in an ethically responsible way.

5) One personalized, easy-to-follow concept that will successfully drive your marketing actions forward.

It’s time to bring who you are to the marketing table, for greater success.

Beireis3Kristen Beireis is the Trust-Building in Marketing Expert. She helps coaches discover what to do and say in marketing. Her specialty is finding ways for coaches to enjoy marketing, even if it’s something they hate when they first come to her. She’s on a mission to stop the sacrifices so many coaches make, in the name of marketing. With Kristen, it all starts with trusting in who you are, so you can capitalize on your own uniqueness.

Kristen has over 15 years of marketing experience online and offline. She’s a Trained Life Coach, a Certified Essential Message (TM) Facilitator, a Group Coach and Certified Core Values Index Facilitator. Establishing Credibility as a Coach through Evidence-Based Strengths Strategy-DeAnna Murphy and Elizabeth L. Willoughby (Grand 4-5)

Approved for 1.5 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

With an increased number of coaches flooding the market, prospective clients are looking for indicators of clear differentiation and evidence-based strategies that can, in fact, deliver results. They want to know that a coach is able to create a transformative experience that will produce a return on investment from coaching.

While there are many strategies available, there are few more powerful than the effective application of strengths in coaching. “All great results come through strengths,” Peter Drucker taught—and knowing how to use strengths in coaching gives you a differentiating edge. It accelerates client growth more profoundly as innate strengths are called forth and capitalized on in resolving challenges.

This presentation will address this exciting emerging trend: the use of strengths in coaching as a statistically-significant catalyst of measurable performance. It will unveil how:

  • Effective strengths application in coaching helps clients create pronounced, quantifiable change
  • To leverage strengths as a way to build trust/credibility quickly
  • To use strengths to mitigate weakness and eliminate frustration.

This session will be a hands-on, experiential event, allowing for exploration of strengths application in real time—including the introduction of 3 tools which have been shown to be statistically-significant drivers of results.

The Crossroads of Niching: How to Find More Clients By Picking the Right Focus-Chala Dincoy (Grand 1)

Approved for .75 ICF Core Competency CCE Units and .75 ICF Resource Development CCE Units

Are you tired of being one of the great majority of coaches who miss their sales targets each year? Do you want to grow faster than waiting for more referrals? Is it possible that you’ve been concentrating on the wrong client type or been focused on the wrong niche? Most coaches fall into their niche or their niche finds them through years of trial and error.

For twenty years, I worked for companies like Pepsi, Pizza Hut, Frito Lay and Playtex helping launch new products. Every year, it was my job to find each new product’s unique positioning and ideal client market. I would then create the marketing message and marketing plan to match its positioning and ideal client profile. Now I help coaches do the same for their businesses, helping them grow much faster and reach more lucrative markets.

In this case-packed, interactive talk, you’ll learn:

      • Why not knowing your ideal niche can paralyze you from doing any marketing
      • Why falling into or letting ‘gurus’ tell you what your niche should be might kill your business
      • The 3 surprisingly simple criteria to pick the most profitable specialty and target market for you

DinchoyChala Dincoy is the CEO and Founder of The Repositioning Expert, a division of Coachtactics, www.coachtactics.com. She’s a Market-Demand Expert who helps entrepreneurs package their unique expertise and tap into their Qualified Buying Market.

The Science and Art of Presence: How to Create More Breakthrough Moments in Coaching-Marcia Reynolds (Grand 4-5)

Approved for 1.5 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

Click here to access session handout.

Being fully present with your clients means more than being conscious and mindful. There is more to presence than opening the mind. You also have to open your heart and gut. From here, you can receive signals through the vagus nerve to access the insights that can create breakthrough moments. Additionally, when you coach with your entire nervous system, the client feels safe enough to be vulnerable when you compassionately challenge them to think more broadly about themselves and the world around them.

In this session, Dr. Marcia Reynolds will present the latest research on “therapeutic presence” from a neuroscience perspective and then lead participants through an exercise where they open their vagus circuit through the head, heart, and gut. Then she will present a new coaching model and will show how to use these advanced “presencing” techniques in a coaching demonstration, so participants can see for themselves how they might use what they learn in their own coaching sessions.

ReynoldsMarcia Reynolds, MCC, Ph.D. is considered an expert on the brain and emotional intelligence. Her clients include executives and leaders in multinational corporations and government agencies. She also speaks at coaching and leadership conferences around the world and has presented in 34 countries.

Marcia is a true pioneer in the coaching profession. She was 5th president of the ICF and one of the first 25 people in the world to become a Master Certified Coach (MCC). We’re at the crossroads of our coaching businesses.

What does the future hold for you as a coach?

And, how about you, the business owner?

In what areas do you need to grow and develop?

For you as a coach, it’s about being the very best coach you can be. . . and creating a masterful coaching presence. For you as the business owner, what’s the legacy you want to leave?

Denise shows you how to expand your footprint and enlarge your impact on the world through speaking. . . and create a masterful coaching and speaking presence in the process!

Speaking to groups is the number-one way to build a coaching practice, but only if who you’re being in front of the room is as present, authentic and sincere as it is when you’re interacting with clients. But what’s the key to making that happen?

Never stop being a coach! Apply the same core competencies to speaking as you do to your coaching. Talking with a client in a coaching setting is very much like speaking to a group of people you don’t know. . . if you approach it the right way.

She’s helped thousands of coaches and other professionals with private practices move past any uncertainty or fear they have about sales and marketing, so they can attract more clients and make more money!

Positive Health, Body Intelligence, Polarities & mHealthTechnology: Coaching Crossroads for ALL Coaches & Clients-Patricia Hinton Walker and Cynthia A. Russell (Grand 3)

Approved for 1.5 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

This Crossroads Coaching presentation addresses the interface between ALL types of coaching (Life, Executive, Business and ADHD) and elements of Health and Wellness coaching strategies for ALL Clients.

Health and wellness has become a new focus in many coaching and business meetings recently, and from Millennials to Boomers, individuals are using fitness-tracking devices for ‘just-in-time evidence’ of health behavior changes. However, many coaches do not know how to integrate this data or conflicting health/wellness and nutritional information into coaching.

Clients frequently struggle with achieving desired coaching outcomes due to unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, stress and body-rhythm mismanagement, which are not easily identified in coaching. With an expanding awareness of how health and wellness impacts personal goal achievement, coaches are increasingly blending this knowledge and/or certification with other coaching niches to enhance success of individual, group, and/or organizational coaching to impact effectiveness, regardless of roles in life and work.

This workshop will provide tools and leverage knowledge from body intelligence, positive health and polarity management (shifting from either/or to both/and) to improve client goal-attainment, with opportunities for coaches to improve their own health, wellness and effectiveness with new frameworks and strategies in a multi-tasking, inactive, sleep-deprived, changing world.

From ICF Core Competencies To Breaking The Rules: Human Development For The Future-Ann Betz and Ursula Pottinga (Grand 4-5)

Approved for 1.5 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

Get ready to break the rules! Learn how neuroscience can help expand our effectiveness as coaches — and perhaps even lead into some forbidden territory. We believe coaching is at a crossroads in its development, and it’s time to expand our current thinking around what’s possible within the coaching relationship. With a deeper understanding of both neuroscience and consciousness, new ways of interacting become possible, and even necessary for maximum client growth.

In this fun, research-based and highly-interactive session, you will learn:

  • How to activate the most open and receptive state in your client’s brain, making any coaching tool more powerful and transformative;
  • The power of stories – your client’s and your own – to inspire deep-seated change, and how this works in the brain and even the body;
  • Why telling people what to do shuts down creativity—and when it doesn’t;
  • The amazing impact of sharing knowledge and wisdom with our clients—and how to do it in a way that provides greater context and builds their capacity (keeping the focus on the client at all times); and
  • How to honor and work with the deep hunger human beings have to integrate both science and spirit.

Like many coaches, I have had to educate the market in order to sell my services. And still, talking about coaching wasn’t enough. I couldn’t get company owners to see why and when they needed me. Until I came to a point where I asked myself – how do I know whether the company I’m visiting actually needs me or not?

That’s where a journey began, combining psychology, organizational ideas and coaching skills into a tool helping company owners and managers lift their planning of competency development to a strategic level and make smart choices on what to look for in different types of training setups. This tool also helps identify potential coaching clients and present to them in a context that makes sense.

In this presentation, I will share development of the GSC-analysis and also some ideas on why coaches really are good sellers – some of us just aren’t using it.

Participants will:

  • Learn to use active listening and other coach skills in sales
  • Identify inner obstacles to expanding their businesses
  • Gain ideas for connecting with other disciplines to grow each others’ businesses
  • Learn a foundation for doing so that’s in accordance with ICF ethical standards

Become aware of ways to use your thoughts, ideas and sometimes judgments to help a client. Distinguish between observations, judgments and opinions.

Discover a way to ‘tell it like it is’ that can be heard by the client and won’t cause damage in the relationship. Find out what one word should be left out of direct communication that makes a big difference.

Thoughtful communication is a vital skill necessary to delivering direct communication that has a significant impact in moving your client forward. Delaying direct communication can taint every question that follows.

Blurting out what you are thinking can be offensive. Learn how to stop dancing around the words and still keep the message very direct.

Implement a simple, yet powerful way of creating metaphors in the moment.

Integrating Research into a Power Tool to Support Clients Impacted by ADHD (Grand 3)

Approved for 1.5 ICF Core Competency CCE Units

As coaches, we are continually learning about new research understandings and practices that would benefit our clients, if we could only figure out how to incorporate all the knowledge. ADHD coaching is one area where research from many, many fields especially needs to be incorporated into our coaching to serve our clients as knowledgeably and effectively as possible.  Since so many people (85% of over 2 million in the U.S. alone) are impacted by ADHD, yet are not diagnosed, every coach probably has ADHD clients in their practices and would benefit from having a tool designed specifically to support those clients.

In this session, Barbara will demonstrate how she has brought together over 15 areas of research to develop a power tool for coaching ADHD clients. We will then apply the tool to an ADHD client scenario to see ways you might use it with clients and to experience using it within a coaching conversation.  Once we’ve worked with the tool, we will explore attendees’ ideas and questions, recap what we’ve learned, and share resources.  We will conclude by encouraging development of new tools for your clients.

LutherBarbara Luther is an MCC and Master Certified ADHD Coach who specializes in helping adults and families impacted by ADHD to rewrite their “what’s not working” stories into appreciative and empowering stories about their unique brain wiring and strengths. As her clients put more play and fun in their lives, they are delighted to find that their ADHD becomes less pervasive.  Barbara is Director of Training at the ADD Coach Academy. She is also a speaker and mentor coach.  Barbara has a learning community for coaches called Soaring Coaches Circle at her ADHD coach website WindBeneathYourWings.com  She is also President of the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches.

Have you ever had clients make excuses or disappear after a few sessions?  We will address those challenges and more as we examine the Establishing the Coaching Agreement Core Competency.  The Coaching Agreement is the most critical, yet often the least understood and practiced, Core Competency in our toolkit.  The better the agreement, the better the flow of the coaching session and the more powerful the outcomes for your client.

Have you ever experienced conversations with yourself in your head? It may seem like different parts of you are trying to get their points across.  Well, they are!  Among our most familiar “voices” might be our Inner Critic, Perfectionist or Skeptic. We all have these Personality Parts. In their essence, they want the best for us, but sometimes they express themselves in a harsh, judgmental or negative way, or have lost track of the time period in which they now exist.

This session will introduce you to or deepen your understanding about the concept of Inner Family Personality Parts and how to help yourself and your clients apply the concept in overcoming fears/obstacles and accelerating success. Learn and practice techniques for acknowledging and befriending these parts and transforming them into allies for achieving goals and increasing serenity in our clients’ lives.

Come join in the exciting revelations and possibilities that await you in meeting the stars of this presentation (and of your life).
